Kids today would stroke out if you didn't allow them cell phone usage for half a day.. SAD!!!!

When I was in the Navy,, I didn't think much about the lives and sacrifices of the members in the ARMY and MARINES..

My son joined the Army and was deployed in Mosul Iraq. He was gone for 13 Months for his first deployment. He had one two week mid deployment leave period..

All I can speak for in my current Navy experience is SSN 688 and 774 Class Submarine deployment frequency. When you deploy, its for at least 12 Months and there have been several ships that have rapidly re-deployed to fulfill urgent military oblations. Its a very hard life for family unity..

Most of my Navy career was on SSBN Benjamin Franklin and Lafayette class submarines. We had 105 day deployments out of Scotland. My last Sub was USS Miami, SSN-755.. The SSN life is a LOT tougher on the Home life.

Bless your Son for his sacrifices now and in the future. Cherish his NON Deployment training days..

DEPLOYMENT HOME COMINGS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please be there if you can!

Ah! Great Lakes. Got some memories of that place. The slackers went to San Diego or Orlando for boot camp. The best thing about Great Mistakes is that it only gets better from there! Congrats to your son.
