Can't say I've owned a Miata but I've known a number of folks who have own(ed) them, either in the past or currently and that has given me the opportunity to spend some time with them. They are definitely not a vette, but within their niche they really are a jewel. All the fun of the traditional english sports car but infintely better, sort of like a bulletproof MGB. Just plain FUN! Moderately priced, seems to be nicely built, very reliable, comfortable for a small car, adequate performance, probably the best top in the business. I love my vette, but wouldn't hesitate to get one for my gal if she was so inclined. Y'all have a good one
That's like going from T-bone steak to canned dog food
Or going from Tyra Banks to black02 in a wig and lipstick
Its just not gonna fly sister , id forget about it as soon as possible
Shouldn't you be spending your time in the for sale section trying to make amends with people you've taken advantage of by selling them misrepresented parts instead of trying to be funny in the C5 General section?

uh oh, looks like black02 is angry again....id better hide
Speaking of husbands and wives, you two quit bickering and fix your marriage by way of deadlift competition.
Poor *****, he can't make it through a single Miata thread without posting pictures like the one above. I understand he has a large collection of them that he wants to share, but there are better ways to go about it. I don't think we're going to be able to save the marriage because of things like this
The S2000 is fast but its not an easy daily driver because it lacks low RPM torque and needs to be driven at high engine speeds. The Miata and the Corvette are much easier for routine driving.
My wife and I both had a C5 and Miata each for several years. Both were modded slightly and mine was supercharged.
I enjoyed the Miata, but both bottom line, the Miatas are both gone now, and we still have the Vettes
Prior to buying my C5 vert I had an 06 Miata (stock). I have seen these car beat Corvettes in the autocross all day long with only 175 hp. I found performance adequate but obviously the Corvette goes faster in a straight line. Part of my motivation to switch was the fact I am 6'3", 235# and didn't fit well in the Miata especially with the top up. I found fuel economy to be very similar between the two. Friends frequently called the Miata a girly car. Like the Corvette it took me a while to find one in SW Florida that did not have automatic transmission. The Miata is cheap and easy to maintain and owners love performing mods just like the group here. I got a good deal on a used Miata, drove it four years and sold it for the same price I purchased it to a dealer who flipped it for profit. They seem to hold their value well like the Corvette unless of course you buy a brand new one.
My wife drove a Miata and I drive a C5. Once when the vette was in the shop i drove the Miata and almost got killed passing a semi, it just didn't have the power. Also, it was just too small and I'm a small guy. I prefer the C5 with flip up headlights.
Friend of mine had an S2000 he built up that could beat up on almost anything on the road at the time. That thing was a beast! Wicked fast and almost broke my neck accelerating. If your man wants small but fast, this is a better, more manly alternative.
This is my vote. I have owned all three, and still have the S2000 and vette. what does that tell you.
I'd recommend one of each. I have a 1995 Miata and 2000 Corvette. Both have aftermarket suspension, intake, exhaust, etc. The Miata has a roll bar and supercharger.
The Miata is better balanced and easier to drive hard. It's much cheaper to run on the track - you can get an entire season out of a single set of tires and brakes. And it will keep up with anything in the corners. Mine still has A/C and a radio so I do take it to the beach and drive it to work on nice days. Mechanically it is bulletproof. The new one is an impressive car - it's within 100lb and 1" in length of my 21-year-old example. It drives very well stock but of course a Corvette is going to accelerate much faster. I think the styling of the new one is excellent, and at under $30k with the important options it's a good deal.
The Corvette is a better daily driver and long-distance highway car. It's got a larger trunk and a bit more cabin space. Cost of maintenance parts will be higher, but it's got a lot more power and sounds better. Mechanically (as we know) they are bulletproof.
They are both great sports cars. Drive an example of each that fits the budget and decide.
Now a 996 turbo equals thumbs up
Porsche is just to expensive to maintain and it seems like they all have at least one major problem that if not repaired before it fails the vehicle might as well be thrown away. The 996 has a internal (ims) engine bearing that can fail and ruin the whole engine. It cost more to rebuild the engine than the car is worth. The worst part is there is no warning sign they just suddenly scatter.
