Default Front outer tie rod suggestions

When my car was on a lift recently I noticed a little play in the left front outer tie rod end. I can get OEM replacements thru my local Chevrolet dealership @ 10% over cost which is $178/each vs Moog Extremes @ $80/each. I believe the Moog's need to be greased whereas the OEM's are sealed.
I would like to hear from others on what they used for replacements and if they used non OEM, did they run into any fitment issues, would they recommend, etc.
Also, would you replace both the left and right at the same time even though the right appears to be fine.
Thanks for any insight you can provide!

I would replace both with MOOG or other top quality after market with grease fittings. All of my tie rod ends and ball joints are still factory "sealed" but I use a grease needle to periodically grease them. It's just not reasonable to think the original grease 12 - 19 years old would not be dried out. Some say about replacing tie rod ends that if you count turns removing them and install with same number of turns may not require alignment. I don't know about that!

I recently replaced my front and rears and went with Moog.

Also, for some unknown reason AC Delco tie rod ends don't any kind of lock on nut. I think all after markets have cotter pin locks.

I picked up a pair of Duralast at the local AutoZone for $35 each. They are Federal Mogul, and it's stamped right on the parts. They have zerk firings and castle nuts with cotter pins, as I would expect. I don't get that AC Delco thing.

Now I just need to get them installed.

I want to know why I can't find outer rears from a good source, for a decent price. It seems to be all Chinese junk, or going to GM and paying a ton of money for the entire tie rod. The rears are just a bit longer than the fronts. Why can't we find them for a good price? Or, is it me?

It isn't you. Considering that you will probably replace them one time in your lifetime get the GM ones that should have lasted over 100,000 miles and be done with it.

I find that very odd, but what options do I have? No good ones.

So, I guess when it's time to do the job, it's off to the local Chebby dealer I go, for the expensive stuff.
