I decided today that I might as well put some new engine mounts in it while I have the engine out. I'm going with Hinson's Urethane engine and transmission mounts.

Also planning to swap out the Hurst shifter for a MGW. I haven't driven the car yet so don't know how the hurst is, but I had a MGW in my last MN6 vette and loved it.

This build is starting to add up

Today was the first day I've had some time to spend with the car and it was pretty productive:

-Installed BTR Racing spring kit (stock LS3 springs, retainers, valve seals, etc. for sale if anyone is looking to replace their stock springs..only 48 miles on them)
-Pinned the crank with ATI pin kit
-Swapped over the LS6 oil pan and installed new pickup
-Installed motor mount brackets (passenger's side needs to be slightly modified to fit)
-Drilled & tapped block for knock sensors

Cam get's here on Wednesday so won't be able to do much until then.

Very nice! I always dream of what will replace my LS6 when it goes...but it just keeps hanging in there for my Daily Driver!

Keep us updated on the reliability of the sensor conversion from the GEN 3 PCM to GEN 4 motor!

For drilling out the knock sensors relocation, did you have to tap or was there enough clearance with the headers to use an unused 10 x 1.5 bolt hole? Just curious.

I'm afraid you're right. Should be fun

I chose to drill and tap. Used a 11/32 bit and 10 x 1.5 tap. The knock sensors do thread right into the holes higher up on the block but I wasn't sure if they would clear the headers and those holes are also used for ground and/or wire harness attachment points. I can easily mock one up to check though if you'd like.

If you wouldn't mind, I would like to know if it could be done or if the sensors would be dangerously close to the headers. Maybe it would make sense on one side to use a mounting hold and on the other side to drill.

I know it only takes 15 minutes to do both sides but if you can get away with using an unused bolt hole might as well. Thanks for the information.

Glad I checked. The drivers side works out better on the bottom hole already in the block. If I keep it where I tapped the hole it's closer to the header. Passenger side has more room where I tapped the hole. I have Kooks 1 3/4 headers

Straub Technologies rocker bushing kit came today. I've used comp trunions on my last 3 builds, but have seen a lot of photos of them wearing where the needle bearings ride so I'm going with the bushing kit instead. High quality and go together pretty easy.

Today I installed the cam, timing chain, pushrods, and rockers with the Straub bushings. Water pump is on and It's all buttoned up ready for balancer install.

Stock LS3 rockers with Straub Industries bushing kit. I highly recommend it. Excellent fit and finish.

Tie rods have seen better days. Replaced both of them with Moog tie rods and put a new Moog bushing in the rack. I plan to wrap the boots in heat tape to keep the rubber from burning up from the brakes. Not really LS3 swap related but just some more maintenance as I tear through the car.
