Well, to make matters worse, the diamond stitch is actually 2 colors, a tan, and a type of burnt orange. The trim on the floor mats matches the tan stitching. I left the seats so they would match the upper doors and dashboard, but I think I'm going to hold off for awhile....I've driven the car in this completed state for all of 10 minutes, and none of my friends have seen it yet!
Thanks V8, as for the shifter, there is so much discussion about short shifters on the forums that I decided to see for myself a few years ago with my Z06. I cut that one about 1 3/4" and loved it. I have no complaints about the stock shifter. When I got this one, I already knew I would do it, but not how much. Once I felt that this one felt as good as my other one, I decided to push the envelope. I have more than 2" total cut out of the shifter, both from the top and bottom. I love the feel, I also did one washer in the Anti-venom mod, so I'm real happy. I've tried other shifters including MGW, and in the search for this car I drove another with a C6 shifter. Yes, they are all very nice, but I accomplished what I wanted with this one. I figured I could always spend the money to replace it. Comfort wise effort is very slightly more, throw is dramatically less.
Sure does! I didn't even bother waiting after reinstalling the shifter. I just did it right away, using the second washer that was in the 2-pack when I did it on the Z.
The house was occupied by the Wyse family for many, many years until very recently. Mr and Mrs Wyse were both MD's and passed away not long ago. The house was built during Morristowns "Golden Age" which ran from the 1870's to around 1929. At one time, during that era, Morristown boasted more millionaires per square mile than anywhere else on earth. If you would like an in depth look with photos and narrative on that golden age life style, go to the Morristown Public Library on South Street and inquire on a book titled "Morristown, The Golden Age! Its a fascinating place, full of incredible history. I was there for 30+ years and constantly learned some new incredible historical facts. Hope this helps, best wishes to you!
That's now the plan. Saw the exact covers I want on another pewter car at Carlisle, and attended a seminar on seat recovering. Just need to cool it for awhile.
