When we were in high school, the police department would bring a terribly wrecked car or a burned car and park it on the school grounds with "don't drink and drive" signs on them, or "speed kills". Did make us think. I don't know if it does any good though. We all tend to think that something like that will never happen to us.
The Cell Phone addiction is so bad, that many people do not think that their vehicles can be cranked unless the cell phone is in use.
Sooner or later all cell phone use while driving, must be outlawed. The Cell Phone OEMs or the service providers should disable all Cell Phone use once the GPS chip reports more than 20 MPH, except for 911 calls.

It is against the law here, but really tough to enforce. Agree on disabling somehow, but there are many factors that complicate the issue.
People who travel by public transport, taxi rides, etc. Some of these might use their phone for work during the transit.
Passengers in a vehicle should not be prohibited many feel.
Also, IMO 20MPH is way too high a threshold for a driver.

People need to remember that driving is a privilege, not a right. Second offense using cell phone or texting should get a mandatory licence revoke for a year. I bet it will cut down really quick. I am a proponent of really tough laws. The stricter the better and not just driving laws.
Kill a person while you are drunk, the drunk driver should be executed. I bet it will cut down drunk driving big time overnight.
