A little more perspective since I own both. Once I owned and drove a C7 as my dd, the new design has come to define Corvette to me as the next gen probably, eventually will. The C5 design is wearing quite well esthetically and, I believe, already stands out as a great design when compared to the other gens. Older gens such as the C1-C3 are works of art to my eye and the C5, while not as classic as those IMO, can hold it's own.

Technologically, the C7 is two gens ahead of the C5 and it acts and feels it while the C5 interior feels as old as it is. The C7 interior is light years ahead - but it should because that's what we asked for, wasn't it?

Not trying to convince those who don't like the C7 - just to add some real-world experience to some of the opinions and speculation. Esthetics are a completely personal thing so that's not up for debate.

Btw, when adjusted for inflation, the C7 base price matches up pretty closely with the C5's. This was debated in the past so the calculations have been done/verified and posted here previously.

So ironic coming from the guy crying that the thread should be closed because no one agrees with him

Not by yourself. I love the C7!
I consider it a total home run by the Corvette engineering team.

Sold my highly modded C5 in October 2015 and ordered a 2016 Z06. I had my C5 for nearly 15 years and thought I'd really miss it. I don't. My Z06 is light years ahead of the C5 in technology and wicked fast. I love the A8 and my only regret is not having switched sooner.

UM....4200 is about 32K now...so you wouldn't take almost 50yrs of technology advancements and performance for an additional 18k which would be about 6,700 in your good ole 1966 dollars?! No one is paying full 60MSRP on a vette unless you have money to burn or its your "dream car"

I love this forum I really do....

@OWN'01;

No need to take it there. I can assure you I could afford a C6 and never touched it cause I thought they were ugly and the interior was trash looking. So assuming he is taking that position cause he is broke is not fair.

Suggesting that C7 owners threw their money away because they didn't build a cookie cutter C5 like his own is most definitely a trolling attempt.

So, I got an 01 'vert about two months and a thousand miles ago. Sold my 75 to get it. Love the C5. LOVE IT. But I miss the C3, too.

When I see a C7...... I think it's time to build another garage. Because someday I have to have one.

In fact, I'd like to have one of each generation Corvette. I'd even like a C4... shhhh, don't tell anyone. Gimme a C1a (preferably a 54), a C1b -- with the coves (preferably a 57), a C2 (my favorite --67 BB coupe), a chrome bumper C3, a triple black late model C4 vert, a CE convertible C5, a ZO6 C6, and a C7 grandsport... I'll keep building garages until I have room for all of 'em. They're all vettes. And all cool.

Each one has style and personality to spare.

Each succeeding generation has tech and performance that the previous gen didn't.

And as many in this thread have already stated, all have their fans and detractors.

Variety is the spice of life. For me the choice was easy. I've been a car guy since I was a teenager way back when. I spent north of $70,000 modding my C5 and it was a great car, but I got tired of the noise and the shifting. To me, the Z06 is more civilized and also a beast. I can make the exhaust loud when I want or drive it in the quiet mode. I never thought I'd own an automatic sports car, but the A8 is amazing. There's no way I could shift a manual transmission that fast consistently. I'll be 68 in a couple of weeks and I enjoy just putting it in drive and cruising. If I want to shift, I use the paddle shifter. I'm leaving this one alone and enjoying it for what it is.

Lol, must have hurt your buddy's feelers

Question though. Do we really need yet another thread bashing the C7? This isn't the OP's first rodeo with this type of thread and it's beating a dead horse at this point. I guess he wants to feel better about himself, but there are better ways to go about it. You're right though, everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is that the OP is ridiculous for even posting this as it's a tired subject. If he wants to troll, then he could at least find some new subject matter to make this place a little more interesting.

Now that you've expressed your opinion, are you happy now? I hope so. And if you considered it a dead horse issue, then why not just post and move on? You could have done that but you didn't. You had to add your two cents to the mix, bashing a fellow forum member in the process. For what, your satisfaction? Sad indeed.

BTW my definition of a troll is someone who comes on a forum who doesn't belong there and tries to stir up ****. FYI sfc rick most definitely belongs here as he's been here longer than you and has 50+% more posts than you have. If he's a troll, then what does that make you?
Lol, hey look, it's the guy that has to argue in every single thread over nothing in yet another thread arguing over nothing.

Established member or not, anyone can start a trolling thread, which this one most definitely is based on the subject matter. And yes, there are also trolls that come onto forums just to start crap and leave. So which one is the OP? Definitely the first.

Also, lol at you suggesting to me how I should post on here. Get a life.

You call it a trolling thread, I call it simply expressing his opinion of the C7, which many here have, on one side or the other. No need to get ugly when someone does that, but it's you, so I guess so.

As to how you post here, if you want to be an ***, that's up to you. No one is going to stop you. You're certainly free to express yourself as such.
If I see BS, I call it out. Whatever that makes me, it makes me.

Between your avatar and the OP bragging about open carry in another thread, it tells me everything I need to know about both of you.

With that said, can't wait for yet another thread of someone simply "expressing their opinion on the C7". I'll make sure to post your beating a dead horse emoji in that one and you can be free to tell others why they are wrong in the thread. Then everyone, wait, at least you, will be happy, right? After all, you're the only person that matters, right?

Black 02, you should really let it go.... I don't care what you think or feel, since you lack some reading comprehension and just let go with crap slinging. Maybe you should get out and work on making your circle of friends a bit larger?

To the point....I have my opinion and if a Princess doesn't like it...so be it.
