I've posted about this before because I own both a C5 and a C7 can actually speak to the high and low points of both. To each, his own, fellas. We all have different tastes and means by which to fulfill them. I bought a slightly used '14 Z51 C7 as my dd and have loved every minute of it over the past year and ~20k miles. It's truly a pleasure to drive and gets far more attention than my C5 ever did, which I still own and love. I like the C7 so much I'm considering moving up to a Z06 but I'd like to see what the mid-engine version looks like first if and when it arrives. Denigrate it all you want but it's one of the best selling gens to date and the new GS has been proclaimed the best Vette ever due to its excellent balance. Just like with the C6, there will always be those who won't take to the new gen. I certainly don't take it personally but I would like to thank the C7 design team for continuing to push the envelope of looks and performance.
Here's JBSBlownC5's new '17 Z06/Z07 in Black Rose Metallic. Spectacular machine!

I'd like to have a C7, but the thought of parting with that much money along with the fact they would give me a ridiculously low amount for my C5 keeps the C5 in the garage. Besides I really do like my C5 - it has been a trouble free car for the 7+ years I have owned it, has classic styling, still puts a smile on my face when I drive it and best of all, it is paid for.

I doubt you could sound more ignorant if you tired.
You need to accept that a significant number of C5 owners (me included) really don't like the C7 styling. And I am not paying good money for a car I don't like looking at.
I really wanted a C7, too. Even had sale ads posted for my FRC. Decided I couldn't swallow the price for one while trying to get a house, even with my GM discount. So I modded my C5 to make C7 power :p Hopefully that'll scratch the itch for a couple more years.

The C7 is nice, but when I think about getting one, I wonder if I would get the grins per mile dollar-wise that I get with my C5 that owes me nothing. I'm sure the grins are there with the C7, but is it worth the $$$. Plus I can 'play' with my C5 with 130K on the clock and not worry about a little ding here or there and I know it inside out and can easily maintain it. Still, it's a nice dilemma to have!
