Hi all
never had these on the car since buying it.. had a set with it.. which were old and corroded etc.. tried them a few weeks back on the reset.. no Joy..
so bought a set of brand new AC Delco ones from Rock Auto.. fresh out the bag.. Tire Training mode.. big magnet..... nothing :-(
Hi Jack,
yes got key fobs that work and trained OK..
the TPMS devices I believe are correct .. I will double check..... but I bought under 1999 year drop down menu.. which is my car year..
I believe OEM early sensors were by Schrader - at least that's what Tire Rack sold me when I got new ones for my '98, and they trained OK.
Totally confused now as I looked on GMpartsdirect, and they do quote part numbers for early and late sensors, but neither of them match the number you quoted.
I would check with Cultrag to confirm part numbers - GMpartsdirect quotes 25981210 and others quote 20807214 for early C5's.
If you have the correct sensors and they are mounted on your wheels, take the car out for a spirited 5-mile drive to "wake them up" and then try the magnet programming method. That worked for me when I installed my aftermarket wheels.
hi , I haven't mounted them yet, thought I would try and make sure they 'talked' before going to expense of mounting in the tires?
It's weird because when I originally mounted my new wheels, I could not get the new sensors to chirp during the DIC programming. I then ran a quick errand and I thought I would try again and all four chirped through the programming during the first attempt. Same magnet, same process. Not sure why, but the drive woke them up. Not sure what the best action is if the sensors are still outside the car. Perhaps the car needs to wake up. Maybe take a drive with the sensors sitting on the passenger seat.
thanks all....
further complication I'm in UK and my Car is a Saudi Car... so there is the thing of whether it is Euro or US spec... believe it is US spec... this could be why they weren't installed when I got the car!! :-)
it also has this weird thing of saying I'm 'over speed' on DIC when I hit 74MPH and you can't clear it..
thanks all....

Given the car's "lineage", it MAY be that TPMS is not enabled, like in the C5 Z06's here - all US spec coupes and convertibles had runflats and TPMS enabled.
