Default Drivers side carpet removal

Hi folks, I was replacing my seats but am insulating under the rugs. Passenger side came out fine, but driver's side seems to be held by 2 " footrests" or blocks in front by the pedals. Do they need to be removed to do the job right?
Thanks!

Had mine apart so long ago that I don't remember but .........take a look. It's either going to be a metric hex head screw ( 5-6 or 7 mm socket ) or a torx head screw.
Climb down under there and take a look

It was so dark and "inaccessible " I was intimidated. They are all 10 mm nuts, and came out easily. Job is done, seats are great, and I do feel a difference with the Frost King insulation as well. I'll post pix as soon as I can take decent ones.
