Default 6sp reverse lock out ..

I have had 2 previous C5's ('01 & '04) and now have an '03 vert with 10K miles on it.
I know that there's suppose to be a reverse lock out when going above 5 MPH or so. Well mine doesn't seem to work. I was driving the other day and went to shift into 6th and was apparently day dreaming and hit reverse with a loud gear grind ! Didn't seem to damage anything but now wondering what the issue might be of it not working. There is a back camera that was installed before I bought it and was wondering if a 'sensor' or something got messed up or disconnected when it was installed if that's possible. Not sure how backup cameras sense when shifted into reverse.

Anyone have any thoughts on problem ?

I have the same issue, I will be ordering a new solenoid

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-lock-out.html

Rock auto has them and states the same solenoid for both M12 and MM6.

I just had the same problem. Had it replaced at dealership $145.43 and half hour labor $75- They never heard of one failing. In reading the forum I guess it is quite common. Had tranny fluid changed at same time. Big difference, cost $170- (Dealership is now closed while staff on tropical vacation)
