Purchased 2003 corvette 6 months ago, had 32,500 mi. Have had the following occur twice: car will not start but all electrical panel lights up, radio plays, but when turn key to start car, no sound. First time his happened, car started next day. Second time, drove car on 12/28; tried starting it on Fri 12/30', it will not start as of today 1/1/17. Please help.

Wrong section, but you need a new battery.

Default based on no start but lights and radio working & my issue once

8Vette7 will chime in... but for now I put my $ on solenoid issue. Do this...Raise the car up front drivers side and secure it very well. Have someone turn the ignition key when you advise to do so. Get under and tap the starter or solenoid with a hammer or rubber mallet while you have the person inside attempt the start.

I had this issue with my very low mileage 03. After reading up via advance search I tried it and it started right up. After it happened a second time while shopping and having to round up a stranger, I thought it was time for the perm fix. Which was a new starter. Caution: Rebuilt starters are subject to fail. Had that happen on a C4 starter. Do not open it up. It voids any warranty. You can also get a solenoid only (w/o starter) from Houston Warehouse. As long as you can transfer the parts out. Usually they come as one unit starter/solenoid which is the way GM parts and most places sell em. Hope that helps. But do pay attn to 8Vette7. He knows his stuff.

Keep in mind there could be other issues. Advance search is your friend.

And DO UPDATE your thread once you make the final fix so the next guy knows.

And maybe add to this thread as well...

Had this exact same problem with my wife's 2000, replaced the starter and never had the problem again.
