Default C5 Super Car Conversion?

What do you think it takes to make a C5 comparable super car? (aside from looks - more so just performance)

Just for fun I drafted a simple overview of what i would put into a c5 to make it comparable.

"2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce: 740 hp, 2.8 to 62 mph, Megabucks 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce: 740 hp, 2.8 to 62 mph, " - 400k~

Start with a low price C5, and build up!!!

20k for decent 6speed C5 coupe. (My preference)

Engine & Performance:
15K - 418ci long block LSx from Texas speed (crank for dry sump) Lots of goodies inside
8k~ Full dry sump kit
9K - UPP Twin Turbo kit with 190lb/hr injectors / 6182 turbos
1-2k - Intake manifold (102mm not needed with boost?) / Throttle body / MAF if desired
2k - Axle back and X pipe of preference
2k - Accessories (motor mounts, HB, belts, alternator, battery relocate, aftermarket radiator, etc)

Drive train
16k - Multi disc clutch to hold over 1000hp/tq
-Fully built T6060 with cooler setup
-3.5inch drive shaft w/ new torque tube
-Built C6Z Diff

Suspension / Tracion / etc
4k - Wheels of choice (CCW / VOLK /etc)
2k - Tires of choice (depends on application/driving - Toyo R888 or Michelin SS for me
3k - Coilovers of choice (pdaft / LG ? )
4k - Swaybars
-SFK Wheel Bearings
-LG Motorsports Mono Ball Control Arm Kit (looks cool )
2k - upgraded half shafts (outlaw or DSS?)
7k - Brembo BBK upgrade w/ rotors (ensure wheels clear )

Labor: (total estimate)
10-15k for install of engine / drive train / accessories
3k Tuning / Logging / etc

What else would you put in it?
500 - sound deadening
3k - sound system
10k - aftermarket hood and new paint job?
5k - seats / interior revamp
20k - **** that will go wrong during the build.

If measuring strictly by straight line acceleration, without drag radials... it might be able to beat the Lambo. -not as many fancy electronics to depend on ( launch control?) so it would be very driver dependent i think.

Would be a mad build I think, Although not many people drop ~100k on their older C5...?
Obviously doesn't have the super car look.. but you could get some pretty cool body kits to be a bit closer. loud wastegates + some open pipes = super car sound

IDEA, CONCEPT.........

Who the F**K wants a high rise hood if you don't need it

and all of the other goofy ideas

How about this?

GO OUT AND GET A USED REAL SUPER CAR

Most likely cheaper

I forgot, the Lloyds floor mats and color steering wheel logo

I already have the steering wheel logo that I told everybody about.

I don't see a 1000hp C5 even being able to use all that power.

Pshh who say high rise hood... Something with vents to help with airflow ain't no supercharger sitting on the engine. :p

Some would say a lamborghini can use all of its power, but I get what you mean. :p

derz
you have too much time on your hands
the world is full of people who think they can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
Now I like my C5 a lot, but I guess questions like your are what makes the world go around.

Hey, I just thought about a transaction that will benefit
both of us.
You can buy my mint 98 with 19,000 clicks for $20K.
The base starting part of the supercar?

Don’t forget about my logo

A big block, not a small block?

I really don’t know what the difference is between the two,
but it must be good.

High flow muffler bearings add 25 HP according to ECKLERS: thumbs:

If you have lots of $ to blow anything can be fun. If I could afford
lots of stuff and not put a dent in my savings I would

I'm just having good fun here my friend, not making
fun of you

I'm pretty sure after all the mods you might be able to find someone that'd give you $20,000 (maybe even $21,000) if you decided to sell it.

Well I like it. Lets start a Go Fund Me site for me and I will build it. In turn you guys get for your small donation a significant increase in value of your C5. After all if mine is so great everyone will want yours.

Lets get started.

OP don't be disheartened it is tough to dream somedays.

While I do like the C5 a lot, no way I would ever put $100K+ into one.

Coming up with a dream build is a fun exercise though.

This dream reminds me of the old days. Everyone wanted a muscle car and decided to make their mid 50's Chevy into one. I did that. Added a big V8 and found it wouldn't stop. Updated the brakes and found it didn't steer or handle well. Updated the suspension and decided the interior, paint, stereo, wheels, tires, .......needed attention. Parted with my 55 Belair HT and got a 396 SS Chevelle. Sure would have been easier to do that the first time.

Head/cam LS7 makes 600+whp, in a 3100lb C5 It would outrun BOTH the cars you listed as they carry a good bit more weight...if not a 150 shot would damn sure do it.

Want to run topside? Put it all in a base car as it has the best aero. I think both those cars are AWD, so you won't 0-60 with either of them on the street.

Making it stop and turn on par is easy, Moton or Motion Control Systems coil overs, sway bars and a AP race brake kit.

The C5 can handle a 295 or 305 tire on the front and a 315 on the rear with the right wheel offsets.

C5 is a killer platform, making them dumb fast isnt hard.
