I sent my HVAC unit to Dave Ruberg to get fixed. It was repaired and delivered way sooner than I thought (Good job Dave). Anyway, as I was putting everything back together (going WAY too smoothly-something must be wrong) I went to reconnect the gas release button on the console to the wiring harness. Nothing to plug the harness into. All I saw was some copper circuitry where the connector should be. I can't find what I assume must be another plastic plugin that attaches to the bottom of the console. Nothing has been out of the car since I took it apart and I'm sure the piece was there originally as I disconnected it. But I can't find it. It seems every car I ever owned when I work on them some piece falls into a space-time continuum never to be seen again. So does anyone have a picture of this missing piece so I know what it looks like and maybe the proper GM nomenclature so I can get a replacement if I can't find the one that is MIA? Thanks for the help.
Not any help, just an observation. I do believe you've run across the same magical, mystical force that always seems to make one of my socks disappear out of the dryer . Same kind of thing seems to happens to me all the damn time, just plain friggin annoying! Good luck!
Never mind I think. It appears that the plug goes into the button from the side. Very little space to work with. I now seem to recall someone making a pigtail for this particular situation. Thanks for looking anyhow.

The conspiracy of inanimate objects. I took the roof off my 93 one day in the driveway. One of the bolts fell out. It had nowhere to go except inside the car or the cement driveway. I never did find it. Even took the seats out. Now to the matter at hand. The plug goes in from the side. Got it plugged in and put everything back together and everything actually works...at least so far. I'll find out in late April when the car goes back into service.

Some of the electrical connectors on the C5 are a bit strange in either how they connect/disconnect or their location. Good that you got it figured out and all works OK.

Yep, the cable is short and the connector goes to the side. I extended the wiring on my 98 to make it easier.
