This was 6 years ago. It was purchased with 26,000 on it 12 years ago. so in 6 summers here in Maine I put 74,000 on it.... Got another 44,000 since this picture. Only way to truly enjoy it? is to DRIVE IT!!
Some good replies here . I've owned probably 40 cars in my life, and nothing has been this much fun to drive or just "fit" me - you feel like you are part of the car. That being said, they are not making any more, and I am not a fan of C6s or 7s at all (no offense to any owners, and yes I can easily afford either). So it feels like a Catch-22...I love driving it, but the more I do, the more it becomes the low-mileage beauty that it is. Sounds crazy, I know, and really, I have zero stress in my life so I think of stupid crap like this lol. BTW, car is a bone-stock (not even column lock bypass yet) 2003 MY Z06.
Bought my 02Z last Feb with 9k on it, now it has 15k and I've loved every mile I put on her! I get people all the time telling me not to drive it, keep the miles low and it'll be worth more money someday. I bought the car because it's my favorite Corvette of all time and I love driving it! These cars are meant to be driven, so keep racking up the miles and have fun.
I love how these threads always turn into "you should drive it more" or "I'm not saving it for the next guy". We all don't live in the south and everyone's situation is unique to themselves.
I look at it this way. We all share a common bond in our fondness for our C5's and are all brothers from from another mother!!
Some just get to enjoy their ride more often than others!
Corvettes did not become the cars they are today, sitting in the garage getting waxed. Drive, modify, abuse other cars, repeat.
treat it like you dont care youll have fun, but do take good care of it.
