I pretty much know the answer to this question but just want to hear it from you guys. Got a 03 coupe with only 16k miles and they have the original F1 run flats on them. They still have a lot of tread but from what have been reading they probably are unsafe.I didn't know that tires have an age life until getting this car recently.Thoughts? Thanks,
Rob

Back in 1999 I drove my '64 on a 2500 mile trip(65 MPH max) on radial tires that were 20 years old and the radial tires on it now are 17 years old and I drive it on short cruises(less than 200 miles and 70 MPH max). Car is always in a cool dark garage so not exposed to UV rays.
Now, my C6 Z06 is another matter as I won't drive it at 160+ MPH with old tires. Tires on it now are currently 6 years old are going to be replaced this Spring. It too, stays in a cool, dark garage all the time with limited exposure to UV rays.
On my daily driver, 9-10 years is the norm(I only drive it around 3,500-4,000 miles annually). It too is garaged in a nice cool, dark garage with limited exposure to UV rays.
