Default Question on seats

I was wondering, I have standard seats, if I get sport seat foam and leather covers, will I be able to have sport seats? I am getting new seat foam and leather covers. Thank you

excellent question, I don't know the answer, but I "think" you can, I have seen stock Z06 seats recovered and converted to sport type backs so 5-point harness can be run thru the opening. But I do not know how it was done, or if it was a simple as new foam along with the new covers.

I'll await an informed reply along with you.

IIRC, the frames are the same for the sport/standard seats, and for appearance purpose, your current seats will look like sport seats. However, you won't have the lumbar support function on the seats.

The sport seats use inflatable air bladders in the lumbar (lower back area) as well as in the side bolsters (kidney area). These bladders inflate to provide more support for the occupant. If you use your existing frames with sport covers and foam, they will work but will not have the bladders that come in the sport seats.

The bladders do not really take up much room when fully deflated so omitting shouldnt cause any fitment or sagging issues.
