Daypo, the wheels look great. I have the chrome ones. My maintenance problem is with the spokes.
I agree. For the barrels, I take the wheel off occasionally & wax them.
For the spokes, it's a slow process. I'm sure the Chrome ones are a little worse.
There are owners that want their C5’s to stand out with flashy wheels, stand out with visible mods, stand out with both flashy wheels and visible mods, and those that want to make a vintage statement by showing their cars as if it just got off the assembly line (my preference). CF is big enough to be respectfully for all.

That there is the beauty of it we all can choose what we want to do with our rides as long as we don't live in a super liberal communist state like California or Massachusetts that have oppressive laws on anyone that wants to have anything modified.
I never understood the whole Black wheel thing...I don't know when this became trendy but it makes most cars look cheap imo..Also hides all the nice details the rIm may have..Where's the rim end?Where's the tire begin?...Kinda reminds me of the old steel wheel full size spares many of the 70/80s cars came equipped with for a spare...I like Black wheels with a polished/chrome lip...But I hate all Black wheels on any car...I'll take Chrome any day over Black...As long as they aren't bigger than 19"and don't have gaudy design...On the C5, I like the factory Z06 Chrome wheels the best...Second choice would be stock Chrome deep dish thin spoke which is what I have..If money was readily available right now I'd order some Chrome Weld RTS...
Ok, took me a while to respond 'cause I was getting my body armor and helmet on for the inevitable onslaught. My '99 black vert still has the original chrome wagons on it . I know, I know, ugly, outdated, and on and on. I go back and forth between really liking them and think of changing them out for something "more in fashion". In the end though, at least for now, the chrome wagons stay . I haven't seen anything out there, so far, that tempts me to spend the required cash to move to a quality "in fashion" set of wheels. I know its an unpopular opinion but I think they are kind of "purdy". Ok, y'all can throw the rocks now!! Everyone have a good and safe one!
If it's too loud, or too black.... well, you know the rest. It's like the guys that still wear carpenter pants, or bell bottoms. If that's what you like, great. But you look silly. I'm almost 40, and Bob Dylan said it best. The times they are a changin'

Ok let's keep the political griping out of this nice civil thread please?
I wish there was a modern knock off of those wheels, I'd have em in a heartbeat.
They do exist! Just try looking in the street rod mags or on street rod sites. They come in at least 18" sizes, possibly bigger. You might also try Original Parts Group. They make larger diameter versions of different muscle car era wheels.
I've never have been a fan of black wheels. They seem to blend in too much with the tire. Vehicles with black wheels at night almost make the car look like it's hovering. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. I decided to take the CCW route...

Let 'em onslaught...I'm with you, I still think the chrome wagon wheels are purdiest wheels to ever grace the C5...
