I just found an old friend. 8 years ago I sold my Z06 which had at the time about 9500 miles on her. This was a regrettable decision on my part.
The car was perfect (you can still find the pictures under a thread I started back in 2009). I have been thinking of buying another C5 if I could find one as nice as the one I sold. By chance I stopped by the corvette shop
that had serviced my Z06 and before that my 96 CE LT4. As it turns out
the owner I sold my car to sold it to the owner of the corvette shop last August. He had put 100 miles on it since then. He said he was thinking
of selling it and we reached an agreement and now it is back home in
my garage with around 13,900 miles on her. Car is still original with no
mods. Leather still smells new with NO CRACKS in seat. I am so lucky
to re-acguire this unmolested Z06.
Congrats on rebuying a beautiful car, love the color.
Same thing happened to me a few years ago with a harley, bought my 01 softail new, modded it, built engine 93hp/103tq at wheel. Sold for new 06 flhx but never really liked the way it handled. Got wind the guy I sold to was thinking about selling it and in 3days I sold 06 and bought my softail back, still ride it today.
Only good luck I think I've had in my life.
Enjoy the time back together with that awesome ride.

Thanks all for the comments. I have forgot how sweet this sounds and drives. Wish I could turn back the clock though, it seems like my friend has gotten lower to the ground!! Not easy at age 71 getting out. Getting in
feels like a controlled fall.
Great story and glad you got your car back. Beautiful ride (of course I'm biased on the EB color).

Thanks for the nice comments. We have other things in common
beside our EB Vettes. I am originally from St.Louis and also ex Navy.
My first Corvette was a 66 built in St Louis and sold to me by Milner Chevrolet. Nassau Blue vert 327/350. Still have the Bill of Sale $4666!

Can anyone give me some suggestions for low mileage collector car insurance?
Thanks everyone for the great comments and welcoming back. In my heart, I
never really left.
That's awesome!!!! Congrats on getting her back! As far as insurance I would look at NCM as they seem to have great rate as well as agreed value policies. I will be moving my policy over to them next month.

I just went with NCM insurance this week for my two C5s and my Talon. More expensive than my old insurance was, but NCM coverage is much better, has agreed value.

When I owned the Z06 the first time it was never a daily driver. The guy I sold it to had 3 other cars , thus the extremely low miles.
Amazing enough, the car stayed within 20 miles of where I live.
I'm glad everybody has enjoyed the story.
cool deal
lots look for their old cars find them then realize memories are best;found my first camaro a few yrs back wow....if it was free I wouldnt at least your story is better lol
Car has low enough mi this time around put as many as you can on it we arent getting any younger!!
Z06 looks best bone stock from the outside (and not a fan of staying stock). Not a C5 nuthugger & may never own one but from the day the Z06 came out had a distinctive look about them.

Thanks for your comments. For sure not getting any younger. Will definitely drive her more the second time around.
