Recently I replaced the brakes and rotors on my 2002. Now the abs and tcm lights came on. I have a c2181 code. Anyone familiar with the disease and the cure and is this something a seriously amateur mechanic should tackle.
Thanks in advance for any and all replies
I would start by clearing the code and see if it returns. C1218 is a relay issue operating the BPMV and the relay is inside the EBCM. Might also be caused by bad grounds. Worth checking grounds before going further with potentially expensive repairs. Here are a couple links relative to grounds that may help:

OK went and checked the contacts, they were clean. I remembered I had just installed a Norris oil catch can prior to the lights coming on. I disconnected the can and reconnected the pcv. The lights and messages were clear. Now I am really confused. Any suggestions?

Sounds to me like you somehow disturbed some electrical connections/grounds near where the catch can was installed. There is a ground point on the passenger side of the car near to where the catch can would normally be installed. Time to take some careful note of electricals around where you were working..............
I checked that ground point and it is good. Now where the PCV valve goes in to its hose is a electrical connection from the hose. Is that a possible problem? The PCV hose was under some stress from connecting the new hose from the oil can to the valve. I have no idea what that electrical connection is for.
