Default regular 9006 led bulb

Anyone tried putting led bulbs that are designed for plug n play like off the shelf light bulbs.(see picture for what im talking about.)

I am thinking of putting this in my aca projector housing for low beam only since now everything is working out financially. I need the functionality of the flip up lights.

Those aren't going to be bright enough for low beams. The projector lows also use a H9 bulb if you purchased the newer version. These came out around 2009-2010. The old version uses a D1S. bulb The 9006 is not going to work.

The ones I ordered from c5racer uses the stock halogens which are 9006 and 9005.

My experience with LED's for headlights is....currently, I'm using LED's for low and high beam headlights and love them. The low beam LED's are excellent, the highs are very bright and using "high fours"...light up everything.

The brand is MostPlus and were purchased on the auction site.

P.S. mine are off the shelf and are plug and play.

They should make an led for the high beams. I wont be using that h-4 harness. How well does it work when flashing people or to signal them to merge in your lane etc?

Sorry, I was responding to the other thread you posted in this one https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-low-beam.html

Those led bulbs you linked aren't going to be bright enough for low or highs.

9012 HIR bulbs for low beams, 9011 HIR bulbs for high beams. Make sure to get the genuine HIR bulbs. 9012 are about 75% brighter than 9006, and 9011 more than 100% brighter than 9005. Since they are halogen bulbs, they have the same light pattern. Just a little modification to the base using nail clippers is all it takes.

LED bulbs put out less light and scatter light everywhere except for where you need it. Anyone that says otherwise do not know headlight optics.

First, Jhonathan (JWM) knows what he's talking about.
I've done the same thing Tsumi describes to both of my C5's, and it's the best improvement short of getting Radioflyer's projectors.

I know Jhonathan does, I dont doubt him one bit. I have also Tried The 9011 and 9012s and it drained my battery dramatically AGAIN.

Im just looking for something that WONT drain the battery. After replacing everything with what I had before, NO MORE DEAD BATTERY.

I dont know whats going on and all my fuses are great.

You have a problem somewhere, or you got bad bulbs. 9011 and 9012 have the same wattage rating as 9005 and 9006 bulbs.

Yes and no. Not every bulb is rated the same. Some at 55watt,65 watts even 100watts.

My car apparently doesnt like anything above 55watts. I have no idea why. I have hir bulbs at home specifically made for 9005/9006 without having to cut to shape and THOSE even killed the battery.

So atm of time, i cant get anyhting hire than 55watts unless its got a harness or an led.

Appreciate the help, I DONT want hids either.

If jwmotorsprts aka jhonathon, sold me a set of his aca projectors without hid parts, I would have better lighting.

Genuine 9012 bulbs have the same wattage rating as 9006 bulbs (55 watts), and genuine 9011 bulbs have the same wattage rating as 9005 bulbs (65 watts).

Noob, you have an unusual problem, my friend. Tsumi's info is spot on. There's something going on there we're all missing. Seems like a problem for Bill Curlee or Daniel Stern.

Chasboy, the alt, battery and fuses are all new and are working, so I dont know what else could be wrong.

The dealers want a 200$ diagnostic fee and storage fee. Which Ill be paying about $300 by the end of the week for them to look which I think is a rip off.

Are those the bulbs listed for the standard headlight housings or the ACA ones? I missed something...

The link on his site is not working. Where did you send your communication?

He and I had emailed directly when I had questions April of 2016. I just tried the link, dastern@torgue.net, and it seems to be working.

Standard mount, but the actual plug is slightly different. Minor dremeling fixes that.
