low oil pressure warning

There are several vendors selling kits but it is pretty easy and much less expensive to DIY.
Search Google for 97-04 Corvette oil pressure sensor relocate for many different methods.....like here

This is the first one I found and read. Lots of great info!

Here was my method, I used the "cowl cut hole" mentioned by many. Did this on my 99 and on my 03.
Many parts lists available, I based mine on this one.
This original parts list comes from CF member Corvette1971

Parts list from Jegs
1) #2268 1/8" npt to M16x1.5 (goes into the block)
This part can be spendy. I just took the plastic top off my old OPS and pulled out the electronic parts.
Then I drilled and tapped the brass base to 1/8"npt screwed in a 1/8"npt male to male to connect the line to.
2) #100121 04AN to 1/8" npt 45' blue (1/8" npt goes into #2268 above)
I used a 1/8"npt to 1/8"npt straight
3) #635053 04AN Teflon braided hose 14" straight to straight (attach on end to the 04AN 45' above)
I used a SS brake braided line
4) #100221 06AN female to 04AN Male/blue (insert 04AN male into the other end of the hose)
5) #9894DBJERL Female 16mmx1.5 to 06AN male (insert the 06AN male into the 06AN female above. The new oil sensor threads into this part).
I didn't use parts 4&5 above. I decided to use the Buick OPS which has a 1/8"npt and screwed the OPS directly into the male end of my SS brake braided line.
GM part # 12584940, also Standard # PS401 or Niehoff OP25351
I routed my assembly around ant to the coil supports under the covers and tye wrapped it here for easy future access.......also a cooler location.

So I know this thread is a bit old but I've been getting the warning on startup intermittently now for a few weeks (no other issues all readings are normal). I relocated the sensor using parts I pieced together back in 2012 I think, and haven't had an issue with the sensor. However I'm getting an actual message in the DIC "low oil pressure," with no signs of wacky/dancing needle on the actual guage itself, which is what got me to replace and relocate the unit the first time.
Does anyone know what could cause a DIC message with no errors codes to look up and no dancing needle on the guage? Could this actually be the oil pump going bad?
