Good advice since I'll be in the same boat soon if I can work a deal on this Z06 I'm looking at.
Though expensive, it appears the PSS is loved by everyone and is an amazing tire. Disappointed Michelin doesn't offer a 265 or 275/40-17 for the front. I know it's almost sacrilegious to run different brands or models but what about pairing a rear PSS with a PS2 up front?
I'm even thinking of something like a 275/40 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (new model) up front. I have them as a summer set on another car and they are amazing so far and it looks like Tire Rack likes them. My only reservation would be looking like a bozo with 2 different brands but the Firehawks are a lot of bang for the buck.
Many years ago, I had an curb incident that I attributed to unpredictable handing due to mis-matched tires front-to-rear. It was in a vehicle that I was very familiar with (had been driving it 6 years) and had just put a pair of old, used tires on the rear of it, as I was low on money. I threw it into a turn that I had done many times before and the rear end totally washed out. I think if i had matching rubber, it would have handled much better (like it normally drove). So therefore, I never recommend mis-matched tires.
Get 4 that match in construction, tread design, and compound, even if you have to play with sizes. I am leaning toward trying the Toyo Proxes T1 Sport as my next set, as they are offered in the OE sizes and seem to be a good value for a street-driven car.
Not sure where you are located or how you drive your car, but some of the tires (PSS) are not intended for cold weather. Make sure they fit your needs.
I just bought a 2001 ZO6 with its second set of the Goodyear super tires. (The car just turned 20K). As for the cold weather, I was told not to drive the car much below 40 degrees, which limits my driving this time of year in Virginia.
The only all-season tire I know of in the OE size are the Bridgestones. I am not ready for tires just yet, but would like to purchase an all season tire when I do.

Michelins are currently out of several sizes because they are releasing a new tire in different sizes a little at a time. The tire replacing the Super Sport is the Pilot Sport 4S. I just bought a complete set for my new 19" wheels. All sizes are supposed to be available in early Spring.
As followup to my previous post: I bought a set of Toyo Proxes T1 Sport for my 1999 coupe with Z06 wheels. I have been very happy with them: they offer great grip, acceptable ride and were very predictable during a track day event. I recommend them for any street driven and occasional autocross/track day car!
