Default Urethane Diffuser, Bolt size question

Hi folks, received my diffuser but they no longer come with mounting hardware, I am fine with the tape, just need to know what size bolts you guys have used. I tried the search but could not find the specifics I am looking for. Thanks In Advance.

I think they're 1/4 or 5/16 standard thread.

I used 2 studs to make the install easy

My CF version has no tape but I'd recommend using Primer 94
on your car.

Thank You, if you don't mind can you elaborate on the 2 stud method.

If you look at the picture the inside fastener is a stud screwed into the nutcert in the diffuser.

With 2 studs sticking out of the diffuser it is easy to slip it on and align it in place to put in the other 2 screws.

Or you could use 4 studs and make it super easy to fit and not mess up the 2 way tape.

Home Depot sells threaded rod in short lengths.

Hi strange.love. I installed today using threaded rod method you suggested. Worked great.

However bottom of mufflers are resting on the diffuser I have Corsa sport system. I am concerned that the heat from
The mufflers will melt the urethane.

What type of exhaust do you have? Do you have clearance? Thanks

I have a Corsa Tigershark.

I had this filler piece from before I put in and it worked great for heat and also getting the diffuser to fit even closer to the bumper when I tightened the exhaust.

Just had to bend it a bit on both sides and use 4 stainless screws.

This will do but if you are more concerned about heat you could add some fiberglass home insulation between it and the diffuser

Hi, I am not concerned about where the exhaust tips are. In referencing your pic, it is the mufflers on both sides that are sitting on the top side of the diffuser itself. Do your mufflers sit on the diffuser?

Or are you saying to put insulation in between the muffler and where it sits on the diffuser?

Sorry to be a pain, I greatly appreciate your help.

My CF diffuser presses right up to the mufflers

After driving for 20 minutes the mufflers are 157 degrees and the diffuser is 128 degrees where it touches according to my infrared heat gun.

I don't think anyone has had heat melting problems on the urethane as heat rises and 130 degrees is like temp from my water heater or Arizona on a hot day.

Home Depot has some 4" wide thin yellow fiberglass insulation with foil backing in the plumbing section if you want to try to bring the temperature down by putting a layer in between.

I actually have some of the foil around from my sound deadening project. Will give it a shot. Thank You,
