Read this thread and pay specific attention to the black 6 pin connector in the 5th picture and the deformed pins. It is MOST LIKELY the cause of your symptoms:

Thanks. This seems to have worked, the car started anyway with a jump.
Do the pins just pull out? I'd like to get a better contact by flaring them out. I tried going down from the back with a probe but that didn't work.

What 5th pic are you referring to? I only see one picture on that thread.

8Vette7, thanks again for your help. The car has been working but I will open both connectors up again and try to make the connections better. When I worked on the car on Saturday it was in my office parking lot and had been snowing most of the morning, not the best conditions. The car is scheduled to go into winter storage on the 28th, weather permitting.
I still would like to know if the wires will pull out the back of the connector to straighten the contacts or just replace the connector?
