Default Plenum cover

Hello,
i have a painted plenum cover for installation. I know the fuel rails need to be lifted to fit the cover on. I'm a little apprehensive on doing this. I welcome all advise and instructions.
Thanks in advance for all responses. The forum has been extremely helpful to this amateur.

Here are some instructions from Ecklers on installing the plenum cover:

C5 Plenum Cover Installation Instructions (1pc) - Install time 45-60 minutes

1. Remove your oil cap.

2. Remove both fuel rail covers (plastic GM covers). Simply pull up to remove them.

3. Remove one side of your rail lines/injectors. Simply unbolt the fuel rail and remove the fuel injectors.

4. Clean the manifold with rubbing alcohol to remove all dirt, grim and grease.

5. Now that you have the rail line remove, you can slide the new C5 intake manifold cover under the line. To do this, remove the backing on the tape and stick into place.

6. Keep pressure on your new manifold cover for 60-90 seconds, this will allow the 3M VHB tape to properly grip.

7. Re-install your fuel rail lines and injectors.

8. Re-install your fuel rail covers, you will need to snap them into place, you'll hear them catch and feel the snap.

9. Re-install your oil cap.

If you happen to have the two piece plenum cover like I have, there is no need to remove the fuel rails to get the piece on - you just need to remove the fuel rail covers.

I have one I needed to lift the fuel rail also to install and when I reinstalled the rail I had a couple injectors leak. So if you have the original o-rings it might be a good idea to install new ones on whichever side you take off, top or bottom. Just a thought.

When you replace the injectors, put a little oil on the o ring. Helps them slide in without them moving.
