I was originally looking for a green vert, but after 2 years of looking around, I ended up with my CE vert. I really like the green color though, so maybe some day. My CE had a little over 24K on it when I bought it just over 3 years ago, is now sitting on 48K+/-.
I think C5's don't like sitting still so they punish drivers who don't use them enough. I use mine quite a bit and its been mostly trouble free. I now have about 156,000 miles on a 2003 Z06. I am the original owner. You are not driving it enough.
I noticed this last weekend, that I crossed 150,000 miles and still runs fine.

As these (and other) cars reflect they are capable of many, many miles. I'm at 80k and trying to catch up.
Pewter, I loved the "2 week notice" comment.
Always sweet to pick up a new to you Vett. Not sure if you have service records and if not as you may be aware just about all fluids are over due for change not based on miles but on time. I would make time prior to the long road trip to get the car into a Chevy dealer with a Corvette Tech for at least an oil and filter change and check fluid levels. Good opportunity to check for any leaks and give the car a good look see while on the rack. Good luck.
