You are 100% correct about that change, it was my first mod and the one I would recommend to anyone with the 273's. It made a world of difference But it didn't IMO make the car scary fast.....what is there a *.5 to .75 sec diff in quarter mile between base and "z"? not exactly earth shattering.
*I did not look that up, it was from memory, if I'm off let me know.
And yes I know that is substantial but not scary
also depends on the person I guess. I took my wife's sister for a ride in the old 3 liter swapped cougar. 200whp 210wtq through a badass quaife differential, (still not fast, but could keep up with a 2.73 geared c5 from 30-80 ) and she had a panic attack after 2 pulls to 70-80.
To me, my car is fast, but to you.... it's probably just standing still
If you like vert, never sell it to buy a z06. For me, a leasure car HAVE TO BE a vert. A friend just bought a C6Z06, and allthough it's a blast when you drive hard, sitting inside that small cockpit for your afternoon cruise it's a real anticlimax compared to driving top down (for me). I have upgraded my C5 vert with Z06 front spring, C6Z06 dampers, Z51 swaybars, and the car it's completely new to drive. It's driving like a true sportscar now, and I've tracked it too. Driving on the road, you don't need it to be more sportsoriented than this! If your cup-of-tea is trackdriving, it's another matter of course....

Trust me this- saltwater fishing/boating makes owning a C5 seem like a bargain, the only thing I know to be more costly than blue water fishing is investing in a race horse- oddly I don't regret any of them.

That blue water is addicting for sure, I'm glad I can't afford a real offshore boat. Whenever I get a chance to go, it is so beautiful out there I start thinking about how I could pull it off

I'm only around 550 to wheels..... but it's quick to me
I have room to grow, 650 is where I really want to stop, I just like the idea of 650 hp.

I'm lucky that friends have the big- offshore rigs- and I have the $20k utility boat
