Yeah..never mind...just noticed it was in the C4 section. lmao! My BAD!
Iam getting a clunking noise when accelerating and decelerating. Sounds like possibly a U joint...not sure what though but I do know there are quite a few things that can cause this symptom. Any tips I things I can check before just replacing items?
Without doing a lot of eye and ears on the car on the rack, here is some LEARNING and THOUGHTS
The C5 and or C6 does NOT have U joints. We have a Torque Tube (TT) and inside the TT the propeller shaft has vibration / flex joints called rubber couplers.
They deteriorate and crack and fail over time and make that noise.
TT and the guts:
RUBBER COUPLER:
SOMETHING ELSE TO LOOK AT:
Remove the rear wheel and look in the center of the wheel hub. There is a very large NUT that secures the rear CV output shaft to the rear wheel HUB. See if that nut is LOOSE.

Thanks Bill! I will be sure to check. My plans are to jack the car up and then have the girlfriend go through the gears and then apply gas and then left off quickly to reproduce the problem and see if I can hear and watch for where I hear the clunking coming from. Iam leaning toward the torque tube couplers (which I did know about but prayed it wouldn't be that). The clunk to me when driving sounds like its coming from the middle of the car. But I will know more when I get under it. Thanks again guys!
PS: I will check that axle nut too!
