For only a few years newer and a non-wide body it just doesn't make sense to do the deal. If you want a C6, save a few more bucks and go for at least a 2010 wide body imo. Wide body looks better, has the LS3, and no first year production issues.

If you don't mind a salvage title and increase your budget to $31k, there is a C6 Z06 currently for sale in the C6 section now.

Another option to consider is getting a C5 Z06. I know of a used car dealer near Lexington, KY that has an 04 C5 Z06 anniversary edition for sale that has only 5K miles on it.

Maybe its just me. I wouldnt even pay 31k for a salvaged C7. The stigma attached to a salvage car is guaranteed money loss.

For me, the only C6s that I would consider selling or trading my C5 for would be a GS, Z06 or ZR1. I really like the widebody look. But, if you want a base C6, I would look into the '08 and above for the LS3 alone.

I had a 99 C5 and would only trade up to a C6 Grand Sport. I needed more which included bigger brakes, tires, and amazing handling. A Z06 lite with a removable roof.. I would stay away from an 05 since it was 1st year production, full of bugs. Hold off or look for an 08/newer with an LS3.

I had a 1999 C5 a few years back. Bought and beat on a few German coupes before going to a C6. I think it's worth the trade even for a non-widebody. I prefer the C6's exterior, engines, and transmissions... I don't feel like there was a huge improvement with the interior though. It's all a matter of personal preference anyway. I also don't think narrow bodies look all that bad.

I'd trade it on a stingray c7 . Don't bother with a C6 unless you get an 08 and or up wide body . The bug eyes and plain sedan look just don't do it for me .

I prefer the look of the 5 over the 6, but I'm not seeing a "plain sedan" look with the 6...from a profile, the 6 looks like a 5 with a shorter rear end...and I like the hideaways over the fish eyes...
