An often working solution is to bang hard on the door panel or a couple of door slams. Doesn't always solve the problem but poor contacts is a common problem and these will often correct the issue. Here's an older thread that may help also:
This worked for me 6 months ago and not had any problems sense. Further research seems to indicate the motor may have locked in the up position and the 'wack' method jarred it enough to make it work. Now I do not put the windows up to where it auto stops. I leave a little gap. Just another anomaly I use in owning a C5.
I had the same problem and just ended up having to replace the regulator. I think the part was around $90 and my audio guy replaced it when he was installing my stereo for $75.
There is a door module power plug/connector (along with another plug) that is accessible if you pop out the rubber accordion tube between the door and door frame. Pull the wiring harness out of the door frame until you find the connectors:
Examine the six wire power plug and see if the female pins are damaged (spread apart). There is also several connectors inside the DOOR that you need to examine and make sure that they are properly connected and not damaged. Press on and wiggle each connector while you hold the window switch and see if you can get it to work properly before you start replacing parts!
I had the same problem this week. The panel on the passenger side lights up and everything works except the window. I hear the clicking but nothing happens from either side. I gave the inside door handle a couple of firm smacks and it started to work. However, it was moving slow and seemed to get worse as I used it. I talked to my mechanic today and he's going to replace the motor for me after Corvettes at Carlisle. I'd rather just replace a relatively inexpensive part than constantly worry that it's going to go out on me at the wrong time.
When I got my car the passenger window wouldn't come down. Banging on It didn't work, but taking the inside panel off and hitting the door directly with a rubber hammer got it working. A year and a half later it still works fine. A GM mechanic told me it's common on GM cars, especially on cars that sometimes sit for a while.
