Default Detailing and emblems

I put this up in the general car care section but thought i'd put it here too since it is somewhat c5 specific.

Got a 1999 coupe (black) that I bought chadwicks paint correction kit for. Going to be tackling it next week while I'm off - I'm a mechanic but I've never been much of a detail guy, since its a vette and I've always wanted one, I'm going to make it look as nice as possible.

My questions to guys who have used the chadwicks kit - what did you do around the emblems? How about in the tail light recesses? I know I'll never get into the in between sections of the emblems with the buffer tool, but is it ok to go over them or to get that close to the tail light lens?

I searched a bit and saw that some guys like to remove and replace the emblems for an annual detail - and that may happen in the future, just not this year.

Any other helpful tips before I do this would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

I too have a 99, black, and use Chadwick's as well as their paint correction kit. I went right over them. You don't need any down pressure so a quick pass over was no big deal. Just be sure none of the edges/points are lifted (and could tear any of the pads. Take your time, and follow the steps, in order. You'll be happy with the results.

BAT....You seriously did a stunning job on bringing out the luster on your Vette, I never get tired of looking at it. It's that good to be on any major wax seller's product as their promo car. Chadwick's is the "right stuff".
