Me, I used the PF46E filter on my 2003 C5 and Scott tp on the other. So far, both receiving units are still functioning flawlessly!
I also use p/n pf46e oil filter. Its on my daily driver and I've never have a problem with it. Before that I did use p/n pf46 and that one worked fine also. I don't know all the technical difference between them. pf46e is about 3/4" shorter. It sits below the c5 oil pan, keeps it out of the way of road debris. I always thought that was why they made them shorter.

I use those fancy UPF delco filters. 44 or 46... can't remember, they're in my garage. I'd guess UPF46 since I'm **** and would want the larger filter.

I use the Fram Ultra oil filter. Considered the best if you read Bob Is The Oil Guy forums.

Fram's Ultra line is in a total different league compared to the rest of their lineup:
  • Metal endcaps
  • Dual layer synthetic media
  • Wire mesh reinforcement as a 3rd layer behind media
  • Silicone anti-drainback valve
  • Thicker canister
  • Up to 20,000 miles with synthetic oils
  • Made in the USA

Check this out for more details.

Take a look at this video showing one of them after 10000 miles in a car:
