Default Little problems

First off want to thank everyone for comments on my other post.

Ok I got 2000 back from body shop, they did a great job. I'm driving it as much as I can. The most fun is driving on back roads with lots of curves,
man it hugs the corners.
I do have a few little problems. The gas gauge goes to empty if I fill it all the way up, buts starts working after it gets below half tank, I put Techron in at fill ups. I get burning oil smell but no visible leaks. Had the no start issue did alot of reading, tried spare key, seams to be the problem hopefully.

I have no regrets buying this car. I got Chadwicks triple play and love the stuff.

Thanks to every thing, I've learned from all the knowledge of the members here.

Jack

Glad you're enjoying your Vette, Jack. They are nice!
Unfortunately your gas gauge problem has been around for many years. Many believe that sulfur in the fuel causes it. I've read of many fixes: using Techron, as you are doing; turning the vehicle off and then back on; clearing codes P1431 or P1432; as well as replacing the sending units. It doesn’t appear that there is one common cure. Hopefully the cure for you will be one of the cheaper ones! Best wishes with this.

My simplistic cure? I never completely fill my tank.
If I fill, my gauge often does the same thing.

I have the gas gauge problem and used only Chevron gas and Techron additive to more or less control it/minimize it. This year, that seemed to stop working so somebody on the Forum suggested using Shell V-Power and it improved things a lot. It still stops working sometimes, but nowhere near as often and it usually comes back on after a short while. Might want to try it. Different detergents I guess.
