Default Front Tire Size

What is the largest size tire that will work on the front? Will a 285/18
fit on the front and not rub?

Default Same size rim and tire on front and rear?

OK, the rears on a C5 are what, 285/35/18? Fronts are 245/45/17?
Friend has a 2000 vert and wants to be able to put all four the same size to be able to rotate. In my mind I don t remember you being able to do that?

I run 275/40-17's on a 9.5" wide wheel on the front of my lowered '02 coupe. No rubbing issues at all. The front wheels are OEM Z06 and they have a 56mm offset.

What the OP should do is to go to the Tire Rack web page and select tire sizes that are posted here and look at the tire specs. The spec page will show the tire width and diameter for a given size. It will also show recommended wheel widths for mounting a tire size.

I use the OEM Z06 size wheel and tires (295/35-18 on a 18x10.5" wheel) in back and with the 275/40 tire up front, I have not had any TC issues. The front and rear tire sets are very close to the same diameter.

Having 4 tires and wheels the same size so that tires can be rotated for longer tread life helps, there is always the possibility that the TC system will not like that. Then you would have to go back to different sizes to fix the problem. I would suggest staying with the OEM wheel/tire sizes to avoid any potential issues.

I have run 285/30x18 on the front without ill effects or rubbing.

I have run square diameter sizes on the C5 had have have little to no issues with the abs. However is you make sudden moves (harsh steering imputs) it is possible to engage. The only time I had issues was when I was running Hoosiers with the same diameter.....ABS everytime you changed lanes.

I'm running a 275/30/18 on front. Y2K wheel w/ .5" spacer. Not sure if the spacer is necessary for wheel clearance but I needed it because I'm running c6z calipers. For sure a wider tire than 275 will fit on the front, especially with a .5" spacer.

Front: 275/30/18
Read: 345/35/18

No TC issues.
