oil change message
just got 2004 C5, message "change oil soon", had oil changed, reset to 100% oil life remaining. Now everytime I turn car off and the back on i get "change oil soon. local service manager at chevy dealer says they dont have a clue about why it is not staying reset. He recommended i reset at every start and keep up with the mileage between oil changes. any ideas?

Are you resetting with the key in "on" with car not running? If you're resetting the meter with the car running it will not fully reset to 100% (it actually sets to 99%) and will instead display "---"

Not sure how the dealership reset the change oil message. Try this real quick. Turn the car to ON but don't start it. Press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds and see if that clears it out....

key on motor not running, message is 100% oil life remaining, start engine will be good until I turn off and restart the engine, i used the DIC to reset oil life.
