Wrong! The dorman Intake does not flow as well as the LS6 Intake.http://www.onallcylinders.com/2014/1...ake-dyno-test/Only the bottom of the dorman Intake is similar to the fast intakes. The dorman Intake has been proven to have fitment issues. You can find threads on this here and on the camaro/Firebird forums.OP, The used LS6 Intake you bought is by far the better choice. Also if you want install pointers for that manifold check out the LS1 tech forums.

Dorman now offers a replacement LS1/LS6 intake manifold that runs just shy of the original LS6 power numbers.

Ok, you are confused. The 901 intake is not the intake from the article. Your article is from 2014, the new FAST copy from Dorman was released March this year.

Oh **** no. The 901 is more of an LS2 intake equivalent. This one has even more fitment issues, and questionable gains unless swapping to a larger TB to match the opening. Hands down for the $200 the OP spent on his LS6 intake he made the best choice.

This video shows the near exact replica of the old FAST intake, which wasn't stolen btw, they sold rights and molds to Dorman when they released their new line of intakes
This picture of the new 901 intake, shows it's almost identical to the old FAST.
It makes identical power to the TBSS intake untouched, and with a little bit of hand work on the ports will easily outperform it and the blow away the LS6 intake

Why is this sticking my head in the sand? I know you really want to be right ... like all your posts on this forum... I'm sharing a lot of valid points:These doorman intakes are listing at $400, versus OP's LS6 purchase @ $200.Doorman 901 has sloppy top and bottom seam workMost feedback I have seen people have recommended that the intakes need to be cleaned up on the inside.Fitment issues.
I have been following that thread on LS1 tech for weeks and there are a lot of people calling foul on his dyno gains also... he is known for making up some seriously BS numbers in previous cylinder head testing so I wouldn't consider his comparson between a TBSS and dorman intake that relevant to the OP picking up an LS6 intake for $200.

I simply asked a question why and you jumped in "WRONG!" so yeah, clearly I'm wrong

You are sticking your head in the sand because you keep ignoring what I'm saying. You post a near 4 year old article that doesn't even relate what I said, comparing a completely different intake. Dorman can be had $350 and performs better, all your arguments point to the OLD 901 part number, which has recently been changed completely. As far as sloppy seam work, it may not be pretty but they don't leak. Guarantee anyone at home can smooth the runners for even more power. None of your points are valid when you are comparing the wrong intake.

I've owned and built on all brands, you've demonstrated the typical closed minded brand loyalty. I'll make sure to ask you first what the best soap for my car is and where I can get the best air freshener when i'm ready. In the mean time i'll actually be building stuff.

Installed a C6 shifter and ****. Both mint for only $60 total. A decent upgrade from the C5 Shifter. Nothing like a Hinson or MGW, but I like it.

Replaced rear sway bar links, thanks to my friend Mike. Gave me the ones of his 08 C6 with super low miles.
old ones were trashed. This eliminated weird noises coming from the rear when going up my driveway.
Also, I did the zip tie mod. I found the radiator shroud had sone brackets and a place for air to come in. Is this stock??

Replaced front sway bar links this weekend. I thought the fronts were plastic like the rear. Or maybe they had been already replaced? Either way, I threw some fresh C6 links on the front.

It's been a while, so here's an update. I decided to also replace the front swaybar links, they ended up being shot as well. So stock C6 links went in. I finally installed the LS6 intake manifold with the help of a good friend and forum member here. I had an appendectomy a few weeks ago, so I am still a little soar. The help was very welcoming. The LS6 intake was a nice addition to the LS1. It has more low end torque and pulls freely all the way until I shift at 6k rpm. I will have the car tuned in a few months, to compliment the rest of the mods.
Stock LS1 intake
LS1 left and LS6 right
Ground down all the raised plastic lines on the LS6 for better fitment. I also smashed down the factory steam tubes a little where the engine valley is. This really helped with fitment. Not much was needed on the tubes
Steam tubes slight hammered down.

Nice upgrade, I'm sure you can feel it in the seat of the pants.
To the other two bickering in here, you ought to be ashamed of derailing this thread. Take the "no, i'm right" brawl to another thread...
