I recently had my HUD repaired. For the most part I was very happy with the work the shop did. However, in the process the defroster vent was broken. I ordered a new vent. I put the sensors in with no trouble. However, no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get it to snap into place. I can push it down to the position where it should be, but it just kind pops back up, and is just kind of sitting there. I wouldn't mind so much if it weren't for the fact that the very end of the vent ends up sitting just a bit above the level of the dash. The only thing I can think of would be super glue. However, before I do that, I wanted to see if any of you had any idea of how to fix this issue without having to glue it in place? The pictures below show my issue. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.
That's funny - my 2004 that I recently purchased had the front lip sitting above the cast in slots. It really only went in when I pushed the front (closest to windshield) tabs down and in first and the back ones last. I wouldn't super glue it or anything like that - just would be a mess in more ways than one.

Check that the tabs line up - trim if necessary. Seriously, mine popped up repeatedly unless I locked in the side facing the windshield first. In the last pic the pad looks like it's slightly spread/deformed. Was the last vent really pushing hard in that area?
If it's sitting too high in that corner, only thing I can think of it shaving the bottom side of the vent (sandpaper on a block)
