Got my 2002 C5 last September. Gradually going through to take care of updating Maintenance. Been a long time since I have changed Plug wires and Spark Plugs. (1965 GTO in 1967). Checked the price at dealer $$$$. I have decided to attempt and settled on the AC Iridium 41-110 plugs. Found a coupon for $3 rebate per plug from AC Delco. I know the GM Red wires seem to be a good choice Old Part # 12495519. Dealer says replaced by Part # 19351568. Does anyone know if these are the same Red Wires? Also was told GM part # 88892763 was what was used for Replacement but they are 2 times the price of the "Red Wires". Any information or suggestions would be appreciated. Also I am getting in to issues with doing this myself. I have heard #7 and #5 are tough to change.
I bought General Motors GMPP Red Performance Wires, 12495519, from Cultrag via Amazon a few months ago for $75. A quick check of Amazon shows them as still available, though they have gone up and are now $76...
As for the 88892763, that's a lot of money for no additional performance, and they won't be red!
Be prepared for one or more wires to break when you try to take them off. And coat the inside of the plug end boot with dielectric grease to ease removal of the wires next time

Thanks- I will check Amazon ( the new # 19351568 is $72 at the dealership. I wonder if they are as good as the 12495519?

Thanks for the Tip. I will use the dielectric grease.

Last time I bought plug wires was from Cultrag Performance - good price and fast service.
The only plug that I found somewhat challenging was the number 7 plug - simply because the brake booster, etc. was in the way. A couple of long extensions, a swivel extension or two and a spark plug socket makes the job so much easier.
Didn't think to add tools suggestions to the Amazon wish list. I found Lisle 51410 plug wire pliers very handy for breaking the plug boots loose from the plugs, and the GearWrench 80546 worked on all eight plugs. Nice flex and length in the attached extension.
I just did a plug and wire change last month on my 03. Getting the wire boots off the plugs were the biggest problem. But, figured out a way with channel locks and a long screw driver to help pry them off. You can bet they were treated with dielectric grease on the install.
I did have 3 wires broken ( one just fell apart and that cylinder's plug had the center electrode gone ).
