Well its just about there. Fixed the leaky valve cover, the power steering line appears to be good again.
Tuner came over and cleaned up a few things.
I am getting fuel added when I get off the throttle on one side. He suspects an exhaust leak before the o2. Makes sense. The connection is right there.
Now just get some miles on it so the clutch and diff break in and ill be ready for some fun!
I had Kenzo put on it over the weekend. I'm SUPER happy with how nice it came out. Probably the last real correction and ceramic it'll get. The clear is super thin on this car. Maybe repaint some day. but this should keep me good for a few years lol
So a couple weeks ago i put another crack in the splitter... So i ordered another C7 carbon one. My plan is to figure out a system to make them quick change. either with rivnuts or something that i can just zip it off and on as needed. I'm going to run my cracked one on road trips (like going out to jersey to yellowvette events or to the dragon) and my new one for car shows and stuff.
I'm open to suggestions on fasteners... i haven't had a ton of lock with rivnuts and fiberglass.
I agree with the rivnuts not being a good option. But do you think they might work better if when you push them through the cover you could get a large area washer on the backside so they have some meat to hang on to so they won't pull out as easily? Also, have you given any thought to making a nut plate bracket you can use double sided tape on and mounting that to the inside of the bumper cover? Mount the nutplates to the metal strip with rivets. I'm thinking of using the latter option when I get the ambition to make them.
Unless the rivet nuts are molded into the carbon, doubtful those are ever a good idea on anything other than aluminum or steel panels. By nature of the rivet nuts needing to mushroom out I don't trust plastics/fiberglass/carbon to not crack or distort.
Try going with a thru-hole and thru-bolt design. Requires drilling holes through the splitter though.
My wife and I got our toys out this weekend (the TA is her new toy)
Next for me is wide band. That way the tuner doesn't always have to swap an O2 and it makes life easier. Also i have a small leak at my mid pipe/header connection that's causing the tune to go rich. it keeps pulling Oxygen through that leak (is my guess).
Car's running great. I have a leak at my collectors that's causing tuning issues. When i get off the gas the O2's read high and add fuel. So I have to address that. For now the O2's are just turned off. but i'm only getting like 23 mpg on the highway. So i need to address that.
This cam bucks when it's under just the SLIGHTEST load. On the gas or off the gas it's fine. but it's annoying on the highway at times. It's an absolutely insane animal at autox. power everywhere for days and hilarious.
I love love love love love the 4.10's and Z gearing. I know some guys aren't fans. It's so much fun. 100% recommend if your car is a fun car.
I had the local shop that does all the alignments for the local autox racers do a more aggressive alignment and that was a win. Looking at new tires. I was going to order RE-71R's but i'm holding off until next year. My invos have been good to me but they're getting older and i could use something stickier.
I am contemplating doing a bypass on the current exhaust. But i'm a little hesitant since it's very comfortable on the highway.
My AC/Heat is blowing out of all the vents again. Need to trace the lines.
Brake rotors are rusting. I need to paint or replace them. I can't live with that lol.
Overall though, car's good. still need to install the FAST rails and the new splitter (this one's seen some better days and will now be the road trip splitter). I'm going to figure out a quick change setup on these.

Geez, I wish I didn’t scrape leaving my driveway at stock height. Your car makes me want to go all-in on mine, which is something I ultimately swore off since I’m saving for a third vehicle.
Love it, and that’s coming from someone who typically doesn’t like black wheels!

Thanks man. I also am not a fan of black. These are grey and I wish I had gone bronze. Actually when the tires get replaced these are either getting powdercoated bronze or I'm buying lighter color wheels.

Yep, they are grey. I’m an idiot and have been following your build from Day 1. Don’t mind me.
almost a year ago i expressed my regret of not going bronze. Monday i dropped my wheels off to fix that. My tires were getting thin in the back, and they were dated from 2017. So i figured now was the time. Totally baked has this bronze color that changes from dark bronze to gold depending on the light. Lots of flake in it.
I also ordered some Kumho's that were on special at tire rack. 915 bucks for a set of 4 isn't bad. 275 front 305 rears. should take about 2 weeks till i get them back. attached are pics of their sample wheels in my color. and you can see my TSW under it.
I need to pull my rotors and spray the rusty parts with high temp black. That looks terrible.
