Default Seriously?

I never take up two places, always try to be courteous to others when parking, never pinch anyone in. I will avoid the minivan scrum if at all possible. Today I finished a little work on the car and decided to make a run to the store, parking out of the way of all the SUVs, minivans and shopping carts. When I came out, this.

You shouldn't be surprised. Most people cannot park between lines. As you found out, they need another car to "line up".

I hate it when people do that and it happens to me all the time. It's like your car is an idiot magnet or something. Often times I come out to find a grouping of cars all around mine parked way away from anywhere. I don't get that.

I would have parked further out in the last spot against the curb. You could have had another idiot park on the other side of you.
Went to a casino once with a huge empty parking lot. Parked as far away as possible, probably over a hundred yards with dozens of empty spots between my Vette and the casino entrance. As we were making the trek to the front door, I looked back and saw a van park next to my car. As a half dozen people filed out of it I walked back and moved my car to the next lane.

Their front wheels are cranked over left too. A real pet peeve of mine. Parking with your wheels cranked over is a sign of a bad/careless/lazy driver if you ask me. Just glad I came out first, didn't have to worry about them cutting off my nose.

Lazy to not straighten out the wheel? Never thought of that, my truck is pretty long and in narrow parking lots I will often leave my wheels turned as long as I'm in the middle and straight. Not sure it makes me lazy

Maybe they wanted a safe place to park? But some people just go out of there way to be an a$$. You never really know. I've waited for parking before at a crowded festival where you had to drive around to find a spot and had a guy sit there a couple of minutes while my truck was pulled up behind him (parallel parking), he knew I was there.....He seemed to waiting for me to honk my horn so he could be a bigger a$$. I just waited and he finally left.

Maybe next time you should be the jackass and park dead in the middle of all four parking spots.

If they are parked in between the lines and unless they hit your car I don't see anything wrong. Might be annoying but I'm sure they admire the vette and wanted to get a closer look and they parked next to you. It is still anybody's choice where to park. Life is too short to be worrying about it. I'd rather have them park close to me than to have someone drive close to me.

It is a free country. If someone wants to be a dick, they have a right to be one.
Usually when they hit your car they don't stick around.

Valid point, but they at least could have left an empty spot between them. Looks like there are to many empty spots around in that pic to have parked right beside him. Personally i would have waited on them and asked politely why? Not to be a butthole, but just to get an insight on their thinking for research purposes and entertainment. If they genuinely were interested in my car i would gladly show them around, heck even let them sit in the seat, Could make a new friend, ya never know

Perfect response. If I had parked next to you to get an inside seat I'd buy you a beer

I see this as only one of two things.

1. Someone didn't like that you felt the need to park all the way out there in your fancy car. Maybe they think you must be snooty or better than others so they park next to you being funny or a jerk.

2. They too appreciate their car and know that there is no way a nice car like yours would cause THEM door dings so they park with you in solidarity.

3. Ok maybe there is a third reason, people are just oblivious and really don't think at all.

I think #2 happens quite a bit. You can tell. When they park next to you they give you extra space and they have a fairly nice car too.

I don't know but last I looked parking in an empty spot wasn't against any laws. Because you drive a "special" car you have the right to all adjacent parking spots to yours? As the title states; "Really?"

All these complaining posts as if these offensive "parkers" are infringing on your right to the entire lot. Come on folks. All this complaining about a whole family piling out next to your car. Did anybody or anything touch it? How about the rest of the complainers? The mini vans are the ones who should be worried. We're the ones with the big *** wide swinging doors. Owning and driving a Corvette doesn't entitle us to anything more or less than the rest of the population. Or does it.

Some might think its smart to seek out the specialty cars to park next to. At least one side of their car will be safe. Ever think they are seeking the same safety you are. But then no one else can love, respect and care for their car as much as we can ours.
