chain and gears
Thinking about when I do the balancer if I should do the chain and gears . I read where they are suppose to be good to 200,000 miles . Anyone else consider doing this ?
Without a distributor it is a little harder to check the chain slop.

I pulled and rebuilt the motor in my 2001. It was well maintained and was removed for a oil leak. It had 144,000 miles on it. I replaced the original chain and gears. The gears showed no visible wear and the original chain had about the same amount of slack as the new replacement.
I would not replace it if I was just doing the balancer if it was mine.
