I also agree with the use of white lithium grease

I wound up smearing on the white grease with a Q-tip - doesn’t looks so great but it does seem to be working - and for a while now....

So it looks like there are pin and bushing kits to fix this. Any idea which one we need?
Something like this.

The best way is to remove the pins and immerse the pins in melted candle wax or paraffin. Let the wax harden before pounding them back in. Waxing the interlocking knuckles might also be needed. Remove each plate, one at a time, and dip the knuckle end in melted wax, then drip excess off. Wax will not alter the surrounding woodwork or paint like oil or WD40 will. Wax will stay in place, unlike runny oils. I am also getting more knowledge by reading this useful article about lubricants for door hinges - https://trusthandy.com/best-lubrican...-garage-doors/

Worth HHS-K is my go to for most items that don't require extreme pressure lubrication.

You can read for yourself. A little spendy, $18-$24, but very much "Wurth" it!

This…..suggest not using WD40 since it attracts moisture…

I use white lithium grease.

If the assembly is working fine use lithium grease.

if it is not working correctly use PB blaster to get it working then use the lithium grease to preserve movement.
