Default C5 taillight louvers

How can I take the louvers off? Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Most of them simply use the same screws as the tail lights. Remove the screws, throw the louvers away reinstall the tail lights.

But pics would have helped as well as more details on the louvers.

It's kind of a love/hate relationship with the louvres. I've been contemplating painting them a satin black. Might look good in contrast to the Millenium yellow. And If I don't like it I can always remove them.

I don't know. I think the stick on fake brake ducts are the worst.

C'mon, I really liked the bsm's! All I had to read was one post where the car had been painted and the color was way off... That was enough for me to leave mine alone!!

Remember to go green, and re-purpose them.

Had I read that same post BEFORE i removed mine, they would still be on there. I don't have a shade variation, just a ghosting image of the clear that outlines the door BSM...

Some are held on with the two screws- some are just adhesive and will loosen up with a hot hair dryer..... you can use Goo-gone or WD40 to clean off the remaining adhesive.

I believe the originals offered by GM screwed on, and some of the aftermarket were glued on.

One thing I have noticed about these louvers(my car has them) is, people who don't own a Corvette, like them.
I get compliments all the time about the car, and the louvers.
It's just Vette owners(and not all) that don't like them.

Bob.

I would have never bought them myself but since they came with the car I left them on. Some have complimented me on the looks, I'm still on the fence. It also has the matching license plate frame!
