I agree with the guy that suggested you "Sell It." Car is in your head and you're not going to be satisfied with it. It's no bargain if you're not happy with it.

If you were looking for a good street or track car, you are certainly in it right. If you were looking for a potential (and it would be a long shot anyway) car that could become collectible, an 89,000 mile standard coupe for $6500.00 is not where to start to begin with.

Sounds like you are disappointed with a salvage title car. If that is the case, sell it. If you wanted something you could build upon, you may have found a cheap entry point to build upon.

As others have said, the price alone should have tipped you off that something was not Kosher. . In good condition coupe should have been $11 - $14 K with those miles.

I picked up a C5 Z06 salvage title. I know the paint was not correct and some other small issues, but the engine / drivetrain is good, frame straight, suspension good, low miles. I went in knowing this would be a track / autocross car, not a concourse car. Price was right. The pictures of yours looks better than mine.

You got it for a good price. Enjoy it. Don't sweat the details. Do want you want to with it.

I agree with many of the others. When you consider that you have checked the cradle and frame and it looks/drives good, it would seem like you got a very good deal, and have a great driver. There are some ugly areas of the car where someone spray painted whatever did not move, but those are easy fixes.
I definitely agree with jcgunn; it appears the air bags deployed and should be inspected, and potential re-installed.
In spite of the many positive comments, if you are just so disappointed in the title that it is an issue for you then either sell it or part it out. There's probably more money in parting it out, but there is the offset of the hassle of constantly mailing/shipping parts.
If the insurance becomes a major issue because of the salvage title then you need to go back against the seller. Almost certainly, they did not re-title the car to keep from having a salvage/rebuilt title.
Good luck with whatever direction you go.

I agree, the airbag should be installed under the dashpad, guessing it has been replaced. This car sounds like a real good buy. Unless you were looking to sell it at some kind of profit, which would be highly unlikely anyway, I'd keep it and drive the hell out of it. Mod if you want, you never get that money back anyway. You do it because you enjoy it. I bought my Z new. It now has 159,900 miles on it. I still mod it when something hits me because I enjoy it. It's still giving me pleasure and I still love driving it. I just put new wheels and tires on it because I like them. Good luck with your car.

O.K., I have to wonder if we're being Gupied here. Rear gears have been changed to 4.10s. Not a cheap mod. Than I see a cold air intake -- don't personal recognize the unit, but others will. Also a buck or two already invested. Pfadt shocks, upgraded sway bar end links. 243 heads. An '01, so probably the LS6 intake manifold. With the 4.10s and 243s I have to wonder if it's got a cam too...
