Default Clutch Bleeding?

Does anyone have the procedure for bleeding a C5 clutch? I know buy a manual.

It seems fine when I first take the Z06 out. Then after it warms up and I zip
it through a few gears my clutch pedal seems to lose a little less than half
of its travel and it feels spongy. It doesn't feel like it is slipping
though. Does this sound like I need to bleed it out? I really don't want to
subject my car to the "dealer" for this, any help is appreciated. Thank You

Suggest you read some of the clutch threads that have been posted recently. Lot of good info on pedal issues.

Open your clutch fluid reservoir. If the fluid is dark and cloudy, start changing the fluid in that reservoir frequently until the fluid stays clear. You can use any DOT-3 brake fluid, including the GM brand. Don't get the fluid on your paint.

Once the fluid remains clear, and the pedal returns to normal in the conditions you described, continue to change the fluid regularly. This will probably keep your pedal normal.

Ranger, Do you just "suck" it out, leaving a bit in there, so no air can enter?

VNAMVET,

I use a syringe from AutoZone (for mixing oil with fuel in precise amounts) to draw out the fluid. The reservoir holds about 2 ounces. The entire clutch hydraulics hold about 16 oz.

Then clean out the reservoir with a couple paper towels. Also wipe off the rubber sealing unit under the cap.

Refill the reservoir up to the "shoulders" mark that visible inside the reservoir mid-way up.

Reinstall and retighten the cap.

You're done.

This is a gravity-fed line. Air has never been an issue in my weekly+ replacement of the fluid and my pedal has stayed normal through 77 passes (and counting) at the drags.
