wow that is high.... how do people afford to buy houses there? is it a high tech area like the silicon valley?

We may be in the early stages of another housing bubble and it could all come crashing down like it did ten years ago. A lot of people are in over their heads and housing prices must be getting close to peaking.

My brother has an almost identical house as mine in North Van, much cheaper than Van proper. His house, $2M, mine in Kelowna (4 hours away) just over a 1/4 of that (and even our prices... I'm in about as cheap an area you can buy...). Crazy.

No... a lot of overseas buyers drove prices up over the years. And a lot of old money also.
