How does this even happen?


Perhaps someone short with a shoulder strap type purse walked by the car and dragged a buckle or brad along the side. Could explain it, but at this point it really doesn't matter. The damage is done, as they say. Good luck with the fix!

Regardless of how it got there, I would take it to a very reputable body shop that has the knowledge and tools necessary to correct that damage. I would think that a 100 dollar bill would take care of it--at least make it barely noticeable. I had some scratches on my wife's Lexus RX350 that I thought was too deep to fix but a privately owned shop down the street made them nearly invisible for 75.00. Good luck...
