Has any one seen a luggage rack on a Z06 FRC one that can be taken off when done with the travel ? or ay other ? can store the spare on top of the rack ? (:
You still have to remove the tire to install a plug. So you'd need a jack, wrench etc.
You don't have to remove the tire.
I keep a cheap walmart plug kit, a thick pair of 13-Mil rubber gloves, a big pair of vice grips (to pull screws/nails out of the tire) a fresh razor blade still wrapped in the paper cover (to cut off excess portion of the plug once installed), and a small 12v air compressor behind my driver's seat in a bag. My "flat tire kit" has saved my @ss twice.

It sounds like a WISE plan need to ad some of those items to my bag,,,,thanks (:
Bought a 3 series M Sport BMW. ‘Full size spare” was actually an option. got it (daughters car after all). She blew a sidewall off the beaten path. Panicked. Used the SOS button. They get her a repair shop 20 miles away and told her to just drive there. She did. They put the spare on and the run flat and rim in the trunk (it was junk). Drove it back to the dealer a few hours away and they replaced the tire. Funny thing, fairly new so they only replaced one tire. Had the tire been 50-75% useful life, they would have recommended a matching pair....
But hey, run flats work. You can still get spares as options (some cars). And sometimes you need both!
You probably should have bought a Mailbu - they come with a spare tire. No worries about run flats with those babies!
With my last 3 cars I’ve put on 450k miles. Spares were never used on either of these vehicles. I’ve had nails in my tires and even a one hitter, but have not had a flat on the road with these vehicles. My last flat on the road was in 1971. Don’t worry about it. Join AAA.
Again I ask for those who are adding a jack and spare to their car...
How are you securing all of these heavy projectiles in the event of an accident?
10 years as a FF/EMT, and I've seen an umbrella kill a person in an accident. Can you imagine what a tire and a jack would do?
That's something I am VERY afraid of. I like custom audio, and I always make an effort to ensure my boxes are ROCK SOLID in the mounting department because of it.

I will say this--it is a whole lot easier to plug a tire off the car, even if you can find the puncture while the wheel's on the car. I caught a whole pop rivet in the driver's side rear tire of my C7 and ended up plugging the tire because the "hole" was too close to the sidewall to patch from the inside. Got a low pressure warning on the iPhone app when the rear tire went flat in the driveway--saw the pop rivet as soon as I walked outside to take a look.
It took a lot of leverage to push the plug in (didn't want to ream out the hole any more than necessary) and doubt I could have gotten sufficient grunt with the wheel still on the car even with the wheel positioned with the hole in the best accessible position. That plug has held now for 15 months and counting, btw (plugged it in the fall of 2019 expecting to buy new tires in sometime in the Spring/Summer 2020 but haven't been driving the C7 because we've been working from home and my C7 is my drive to work car on nice days).
