I recently ordered new front DRL housings for my C5 (old ones were cracking) which are black w/clear regions for the bulbs. I already have the hyperflash harness installed (for my Halo tail-lights) and I want to get the white/amber switchback bulbs for the DRL positions, but I am confused about the lights for the side-marker. I assume these amber front side-marker LED bulbs must exist somewhere, just haven't found them yet. Since the lens positions are all 'clear' it would be important that it illuminates amber when on. I haven't ordered any of the bulbs yet. If there is a good source to get both the white/amber switchback DRL and also the amber front side-marker LEDs at once, that'd be super. Recommendations?
(oh.. and yeah, would like to avoid anything having a resistor pack since I have the hyperflash harness. Hopefully something that is easy plug-n-play)
Thanks! These are the housings I went with.
Look at my post 32 and 36 all the info you need is there and parts and links are in 36. Pics show actual bulbs installed and operating. Radioflyer sells switchbacks but they are like 3x the price of the ones I used (linked and pic)
Good choice of housings. I run the same ones with a white clear bulb behind the clear corner reflector. It's a pretty good match with the white switchbacks at night.
Amber 194-style LEDs are popular. Surprised you haven't found any. I bought all mine from SuperBrightLEDs.com. Super-fast service. They are based in the Midwest, so delivery happens quickly, no matter where you are located.
I just installed the same corner lights. I like them a lot. These bulbs worked fine -- just test in the socket before you install them. If not illuminated just flip it around.
